The Class of '65 had its 45th (ee gads) reunion at the Olcott Yacht Club on July 30 and 31, 2010. There were 55 class members present on Friday and 40 on Saturday. Pictures and news will be added as information comes in. Anyone wishing to add photos may email them to me at Avie47@hughes.net and if you have any news you wants to share with classmates, I will add that periodically.
John Burrows sent his sister, Nancy, as he could not be there. Five years ago we weren't sure if he'd be around, but he beat his battle with cancer and was undergoing reconstructive surgery at the same time as the reunion. We were all thrilled to hear he is back and surviving, and hope to see him again in five years. You can check out his photo on Facebook, and send him a message also.
We were saddened to learn that Ann Cook and Celeste Weaver passed away since the last reunion. I will attempt to do a complete listing of all the classmates who have passed away since 1965.

Lynne Nicholas Bush, Mary Bowman Leader and Cherry Depew Chappell. Lynne and Cherry greeted guests and passed out name tags. Mary took 118 photos, which are not here yet. More photos coming, folks, so check back.

Linda Walker and Karen Noon Greenman catching up.

Lee Samson, Dick Leddy, Karen Noon Greenman and Dan Ward

Dick Clark, Carl Lilieberg, Dick Leddy. All had a drink. It was very hot.

Mr. Kent and Mike Bligh on Friday night. Why do they both have down mouths? Heavy conversation maybe?
Gary Holzman and Alan Hartz catch up on old times. Gary looks quite distinguished with that facial hair, doesn't he?

John Stranges, such a cute boy in high school, still charming as he poses with Diana Fowler, who came in from Alaska. Did you know that Diana is John Stranges' cousin?

Lynne Nicholas Bush and Darelene Verguson Wallace share a drink outside of the yacht club Friday.

This is the cutest group shot....From left, top row, are Connie Krentz, Mary Bowman Leader, and Kathy Kapela; bottom row, Debbie West Palisano (still perky) and Diana Fowler.

Diana Fowler and Mary Bowman Leader

Ray Culverwell and Dan Ward were reminiscing about their Burt roots, undoubtedly.

David Swift and Charlie Jesson appear to have heard a dirty joke and are keeping in the laughter til after the photographer goes away. Or else they both just swallowed a bitter pill.

Mike Bligh and Lynne shared a moment on Saturday night.

Connie Krentz was overcome with emotion (or was it drinking?) as she swooned on Mary Bowman Leader. Kathy Kapela loved it.

This is a beautiful view of the Olcott Yacht Club through one of the three tents set up for our dinner on Saturday. The food was excellent and the service was great both nights.

David Swift and Cindy Culverwell enjoying the complimentary wine.

The Liliebergs and Manns enjoy conversation with Linda Walker. Note the tents in the background. If it rained, we'd have eaten inside, but the weather was perfect.

Dan Ward, Anne Carlton Huenomoerder, Lee Hiller and Steve Hiller enjoy drinks and conversation by the harbor.

John and Linda Mikits Berry traveled to Olcott from their home in Mesa, Arizona.

Such a cute couple. Paul Griffin and Kathy Kapela posed for this shot. Kathy came in from Florida.

Dick Leddy and Darlene Verguson Wallace. Dick spent a week visiting old friends prior to the reunion before returning to Murfreesboro, Tenn.

It was family reunion night Friday for cousins David Swift, Dann Townsend (Mr. Avis Risley), Linda King and her brother Jerry King.

Alan Hartz seems fully engrossed in whatever Paul Griffin had to say. What could it have been? Engine stuff, probably.

When Diana flew in from Alaska, she spent the week with Debbie West Palisano. Word is that they had a great time. They look happy here, don't they?

A beautiful sunset brought in the evening over Lake Ontario Friday night.

Christine Bidleman Phillips couldn't make it to the reunion, but she is hoping to make the 50th. She was visiting Newfane before the reunion and is shown here with other Newfane Grads from other years you may remember. From left are Eileen Foley Krueger (married to Rick Krueger), Christine, and Pat Foley Lash.

The class members were delighted to have Mr. Robert Kent visit. He arrived at Newfane in 1962, replacing a teacher that had no control of the classroom, and was loved instantly by the class. He taught English for the next two years, then went on to teach English as a Second Language in Saudi Arabia and Africa, and has traveled extensivley, making friends along the way. He was one of the first of a series of young teachers we were delighted to have, opposed to the oldies but goodies we had prior to our Freshman year. (Remember Miss McGuire?)

Roger Taylor retired from his job with the Town of Newfane the day of the reunion. He was celebrating his freedom. Some of us remembered a reunion of 20 years ago (or was it 25) when he was celebrating getting the job. Oh, how things change over the years.

Who is this guy? Why, it's Jerry King. In high school he had a blonde pompadour and was clean shaven.

Linda Walker always looked elegant, and she is also happily retired. Doesn't she look relaxed?

The centerpieces on each table featured a nautical theme. One person at each table was the winner of the lovely candles.
